How AGCO Licensing Works in Ontario

A quick visual guide to who regulates what — and why we build this site the way we do.

AGCO Regulator — sets and enforces the rules iGaming Ontario (iGO) Signs Operating Agreements with operators Maintains the official public operator directory Licensed Operator e.g. BetMGM, FanDuel Can show its own bonuses BetGuard Centralized self-exclusion Covers every iGO-regulated site Standard 2.05 No public bonus advertising by third-party sites like this one

AGCO: the regulator

The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) sets and enforces the rules for every licensed gambling operator in the province, including advertising standards like Standard 2.05.

iGaming Ontario (iGO): the operating layer

iGO is the government agency that signs Operating Agreements directly with private operators and maintains the official public directory of who’s actually licensed — the same directory we check before publishing any review.

What this means for you as a player

Any operator we review has both an active AGCO registration and an iGO Operating Agreement — verified directly against the official directory. We don’t display bonus amounts because Standard 2.05 reserves that right for the operator’s own licensed site, once you’ve chosen to visit it.
